A vandal who was caught by a dashcam as he keyed a £100,000 Aston Martin supercar has admitted causing criminal damage.

Footage shows Gary Brissett, 48, brazenly running his key down the side of the V8 Vanquish sports car as it was parked at a supermarket in Hackney in June.

Brissett, of Clissold Road, Stoke Newington, was with his baby at the time of the incident.

Bizarre footage of the crime - which was released by police appealing for witnesses - was viewed by millions of people as it went viral online.

It shows him pulling a set of keys from his pocket before running them alongside the left hand side of the car’s bonnet, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.

He was arrested days after police released the video last month.

On Friday, Brissett pleaded guilty at Thames Magistrates’ Court to causing £7,741 worth of damage to owner Oliver Hall’s car during the incident on June 19.

He will be sentenced on September 19 and was warned he could face jail for his crime.
