A man was this morning stabbed in broad daylight in a north London street.

Scotland Yard is appealing for witnesses to the attack in Parsonage Lane, which saw the 22-year-old victim stabbed in the leg during a fight. Detectives described his attacker as a black man in his 30s who was wearing dark clothing.

Ambulance staff took the man to a north London hospital, and he has now been discharged. His injury is not thought to be life-threatening.

"The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing," said a Met spokesman.

"Any witnesses or anyone with any information can call police via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

The stabbing is thought to have happened near the junction with Baker Street.
