Harefield attack: Man, 33, fighting for life after being beaten over the head with a baseball bat in west London

A man is fighting for his life after being attacked with a baseball bat in west London.

The victim, 33, was found unresponsive with serious head injuries in Dovedale Close, Harefield, on Sunday morning.

He has been left in a critical condition in a west London hospital.

Police were called to the scene at 1.30am. Paramedics also attended.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Initial police enquiries have established that the victim was beaten with a baseball bat.

"Were you in the area of Dovedale Close in the early hours? Did you see someone carrying a bat or maybe you witnessed the incident?

"If you have any information that could assist the investigation please contact police without delay."
