A gay “sexual predator” tricked four straight men into having sex with him by posing as a woman called Ana on Craigslist and Tinder.
Posing as a woman, “liar and fantasist” Duarte Xavier, of Wandsworth, found straight men on dating apps who wanted to have “no strings attached fun” and sent them provocative pictures.
They were tricked into meeting “Ana” for sex, during which the men were told they must wear a blindfold for the duration and were not allowed to touch "her" in return.
Xavier was found guilty on Friday of six counts of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent following a trial at Kingston Crown Court.
One victim, 26, was lured into Xavier’s home in complete darkness and was told to close the door and come upstairs, before he felt someone grab him and pull his trousers down, the court was told.
An item, believed to be a pillowcase, was put over his head. When the victim asked to see that “Ana” was actually female, Xavier said no and began performing a sex act, Scotland Yard said.
The "horrified" victim went outside and called police and Xavier was arrested.
Another victim was told "Ana" was looking for a role-play experience and the pair agreed to meet in King George’s Park in Wandsworth, where he would be blindfolded.
The 29-year-old went to the secluded area and a sex act performed on him by Xavier before they had sex. "Ana" then left and the victim was completely unaware who he had actually had sex with.
Detective Constable Lucy Marsh, of Wandsworth Police, condemned Xavier as a “sexual predator” who left four victims “traumatised” for his own sexual gratification.
“The crimes Xavier committed are unique in their depravity, all of the victims have stated unequivocally that they would never have given their consent to sexual relations with a man.
“He has demonstrated extreme manipulation and cunning in order to satisfy his own sexual gratification, getting bizarre conditions that the victims adhered to in the belief that they were part of the experience.
“Xavier is a sexual predator and I hope the victims, all of whom were traumatised by their experiences, will now feel that they have achieved some justice.”
Scotland Yard said they are “entirely aware” that there may be other potential victims who have also felt too ashamed to speak to police after their experience.
Another 29-year-old man targeted by “Ana” had exchanged pictures and even a video call with Xavier, with no reason to suspect that he was not speaking to a woman, police said.
After being led blindfolded into a room inside a Hardwick Square flat, he thought he heard a voice saying: “Stay there, don’t take it off and don’t move the mask.”
As "Ana" began to perform a sex act on him, the victim took off the blindfold and saw Xavier. He left the flat immediately “in disgust”, a police spokesman said.
Speaking after the sentencing, Kunal Davé, from the CPS, added: “I hope today’s conviction not only makes it clear just how important consent is, but also gives the victim some measure of comfort and sends a message to other victims that they are not alone.”
Xavier will be sentenced on November 9.
