A 15-year-old boy is fighting for life after being stabbed in the chest in south-west London.

Police found the teenager suffering from a stab wound to his chest at around 5.30pm on Wednesday.

Paramedics rushed to the scene on Hunters Road, Chessington, and the victim was taken to a south London hospital for emergency treatment.

Scotland Yard confirmed that he remained in hospital in a “critical condition” on Thursday, while an investigation into the stabbing has been launched.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “A 15-year-old male at the scene has suffered a stab injury to the chest.

"He was taken to a south London hospital for treatment – he remains there in a critical condition."

The Tolworth branch of the Liberal Democrats tweeted: “Police say that there is no risk to the public as it appears to be targeted.”

Kingston CID are continuing to investigate the attack, while no arrests have been made.
