A man, believed to be aged in his 40s, was arrested at a nearby address on suspicion of attempted murder.

He remains in custody at a west London police station.

Dramatic pictures taken from the scene showed armed police officers swarming a home in the street.

Officers from Wandsworth are investigating.

The stabbing comes the day the Standard launched its investigation into the capital’s knife crime epidemic, with 11 Londoners stabbed to death in just 16 days.

The Met has launched a specialist take force to tackle the problem.
