The Crush: Jennifer Aniston

We'll be there for her
Taking care of business: Jennifer Aniston in Horrible Bosses 2
Lotte Jeffs4 December 2014

How Jennifer Aniston maintains her sense of humour when she’s forever being called an unlucky-in-love sadsack who blew her role of a lifetime as Mrs Brad Pitt is quite beyond Crush. The woman deserves a medal for stoicism, and some sisterly love, for goodness’ sake — we copied her haircut, we rooted for her and Ross and then we turned on her, spectacularly, casting her as a perpetual victim and sniggering behind her back. So Crush would like to say soz on behalf of non-famous people everywhere.

It’s no surprise Aniston is channelling her rage into playing a thoroughly awful, sex-crazed, foul-mouthed dentist in Horrible Bosses 2 (out now), but in real life she can’t help but be a sweetie. Last week she went along with a Radio 1 prank to be diva-ish and difficult during an interview with young reporter Chris Stark and did such a good job he almost burst into tears — at which point she passed him a tissue and gave him a big hug, apologising profusely. Awww. With news that Rachel, Ross and all 236 episodes of the 1990s sitcom are coming to US Netflix on New Year’s Day (and to the UK later) there’s no better time to get back on Aniston’s good side.
