The private collection of an “Italian fashion aficionado” is set to be auctioned online at the end of November at Sotheby's, including a number of rare Chanel pieces - some dating back decades.

From a rainbow selection of Chanel’s iconic chain strap bags through to statement gold jewellery, designer addicts will be able to bid on the rare pieces online.

The luxury lot titled A Collection of a Lifetime: Chanel Online features 177 pieces by the French atelier, with pieces expected to go for thousands via Sotheby’s Milan.

Highlights from the stylish collection include a pair of pearl embellished sunglasses.

While Chanel is synonymous with its iconic black and gold quilted bags, a range in different colours and textures are also included in the auction.

One of the most expensive pieces on the ballot is a chain strap bag trimmed with faux fur, estimated to fetch up to £2,500.

Now that we’re into the winter weather, a striking pair of Chanel heeled boots are also a great shout. Featuring a white racing stripe and the double C logo on the toe, Sotheby’s predicts the pieces will sell for between £258-430.

There’s also a playful Chanel clutch bag, which pays homage to the brand’s iconic No.5 perfume beloved by the likes of Marilyn Monroe. Dating back to 2001, it’s an unusual piece for the brand as it features a pop art style comic panel.

Chanel jewellery is also a focal point of the collection, and one of the most notable pieces is a chunky coin necklace from 1990-91.

Featuring coins engraved with the words “Coco Paris France”, floral details and a cameo of a woman, it’s one of the more affordable items up for auction with an estimated cost of between £86-171.

With chain belts back in fashion, a matching belt and bracelet pair looks set to go quickly. Featuring the brand’s name in block initials, the belt also features a heavy medallion with the double C logo on it.

All of the products will go up for auction between November 29 and December 5 online at Sotheby’s, but the entire collection can be seen in person at the Palazzo Serbelloni in Milan between December 3-4.
