British coachbuilding specialist Kahn Design has revealed these teaser images of an exciting new track-day car – and the Bradford company says the aluminium-bodied Speed 7 could hit circuits as soon as next year if the right technical partner can be found.

Kahn’s official illustrations show a stunning, traditionally styled two-seater that evokes the style of Germany’s pre-war Mercedes-Benz and Auto Union Silver Arrows. According to the firm, it would use an existing platform and powertrain, and could potentially be a hybrid priced at £70,000.

Company chief Afzal Khan says he is looking to hook up with fellow British engineering specialists to develop the project from the ground up and take it through the homologation process.

With the right tech partner, Kahn Design could turn the project around within six months

He explained: “The idea is quite simple, but it all depends on which partners we find. We could build the car around, say, a Caterham chassis. Perhaps start with a small petrol engine, then a hybrid.”

He predicts that, with the right tech partner, Kahn Design could turn the project around within six months – and he reckons demand from track-day fans would be substantial, particularly for a hybrid.

“I know I could sell 100 tomorrow,” he stated confidently.
