More people buy a new car in the UK through a PCP finance deal than through any other method. Why wouldn’t you? Because you’re only financing a small percentage of a car’s total price, PCP deals give you access to cars you couldn’t normally contemplate.

You don't need to spend more than £300 a month to take your pick from some of the best cars on the market.

Here are our top 10 deals based on What Car?’s Target Price research, which tells you the most you should realistically pay a dealer for a new car (as opposed to the full retail price). Each deal is for three years, with a 30,000-mile limit, and is based on 15% of the value of the car combined with the manufacturer's finance discount allowance.

Let’s start at our most expensive recommendations and work our way down – or perhaps that should be up – to the really affordable options.

10 VW Touran 1.6 TDI 115 SE

3 years PCP finance with 6.2% APR
On the road Target Price: £20,893
Target Price monthly cost: £301

Technically outside our £300 limit by £1, but the Touran is worth including in our list because it’s one of the best traditional MPVs you can get, with class-leading space and top quality engines. We especially like the 1.6-litre diesel in SE trim.

9 Renault Zoe Dynamique Nav Rapid Charge

3 years PCP finance with 7.9% APR
On the road target price: £14,993
Target price monthly cost: £285

In the limited range of mass-market all-electric cars, the Zoe offers a fun drive, reasonable practicality, and (in Dynamique Nav trim) sat-nav, rear parking sensors and a powered-up stereo. You have the choice of buying or leasing the car's battery.

8 Seat Ateca 1.4 TSI Xcellence

3 years PCP finance with 4.8% APR
On the road Target Price: £23,309
Target Price monthly cost: £278

Its only been on sale for a short time, but the Seat Ateca has already become our favourite small SUV, knocking the Nissan Qashqai off its perch. This 1.4-litre petrol engine is our pick of the range, and Xcellence trim gets you a stunning array of kit, including satellite navigation, heated leather seats and a reversing camera.

7 Audi A3 Sportback 1.0 TFSI SE S Tronic

3 years PCP finance with 6.3% APR and a finance contribution of £800
On the road Target Price: £19,315
Target Price monthly cost: £252

We love the Audi A3 and it's five-door A3 Sportback stablemate. Both are outstanding family hatchbacks, offering buyers the low running costs and practicality you'd expect from a car in this class, combined with the premium interior we've come to expect from Audi. In this deal, the 1.0-litre petrol engine is coupled to Audi's S tronic automatic gearbox.

6 Skoda Octavia Estate 1.4 TSI 150 SE DSG

3 years PCP finance with 0% APR and a finance contribution of £1000
On the road Target Price: £19,829
Target Price monthly cost: £251

An Octavia Estate might not seem exciting but it’s one of those ‘do everything’ cars, blending practicality, space, economical running costs and generous equipment levels with a punchy 1.4-litre petrol engine/automatic gearbox combination.

5 Skoda Superb 2.0 TDI CR SE

3 years PCP finance with 4.9% APR and a finance contribution of £2000
On the road Target Price: £20,170
Target Price monthly cost: £249

We really rate the Skoda Superb. It’s huge in both passenger compartment and boot, well equipped in SE trim and low in CO2 emissions with the 2.0-litre diesel engine. At under £250 a month it’s incredible value.

4 Ford Kuga 2.0 TDCi Zetec

3 years PCP finance with 0% APR and a finance contribution of £1000
On the road Target Price: £22,220
Target Price monthly cost: £232 The deal:

Ford is known for producing good-handling cars and the Kuga SUV is no exception. The diesel engine is easily gutsy enough to deal with big loads. The Mazda CX-5 beats it in some aspects, but in isolation the Kuga is a competitive SUV choice.

3 Renault Clio 1.5 dCi 90 Dynamique S Nav

3 years PCP finance with 3.99% APR and a finance contribution of £1900
On the road Target Price £15,511
Target price monthly cost: £216

Renault’s Clio has made quite a comeback in the hatchback class. It has style, space, and easy to drive economical engines. You’ll get four adults and their luggage in one, and the 1.5 diesel version will take you long distances at low costs.

2 Mini hatchback 1.5 Cooper (Pepper Pack)

3 years PCP finance with 5.9% APR and a finance contribution of £1300
On the road Target Price: £15,396
Target price monthly cost: £209

The three-door version of Mini's hatchback combines low running costs and strong resale values with chic appeal. It’s a great all-rounder, especially in the 1.5-litre Cooper trim that delivers praiseworthy performance and refinement.

1 Audi A1 1.4 TFSI Sport

3 years PCP finance with 6.3% APR and a finance contribution of £750
On the road Target Price: £15,666
Target price monthly cost: £202

Thanks to its smooth petrol engines, crisp handling and a superb interior, the A1 is a shoe-in choice for anyone desiring a small, premium hatch. We prefer Sport spec cars as they include Bluetooth connectivity, stiffer suspension and sports seats – and that’s the spec this great deal is offering.
