Birds of a feather, Mayfair

Peonies on the turn are the flowers du jour at the swishest London dinners, as spotted at a private soirée at Harry’s Bar to toast Bird in Hand’s new wine collection (guests stole keepsake blooms after dessert had been polished off). ES cover boy Bobby Gillespie spun Britpop tunes as hostess Alexa Chung led the way to the dance floor.

Is Lenny Kravitz the ultimate slashie? The muso/interior designer/creative director of Dom Pérignon now turned photographer was showing off the fruits of his new hobby with an exhibition of shots of his glam pals at Park Village Studios. Another ES cover star was on the decks — Neneh Cherry this time — while Eva Herzigová, Bella Freud and Erin O’Connor enjoyed towers of native oysters washed down with the iconic champagne.
