The Queen's Maison

Louis Vuitton celebrates the Jubilee with Hans-Peter Feldmann
Karen Dacre31 May 2012

How does The Queen feel about Louis Vuitton? Does she own one of its iconic leopard-print Sprouse scarves, I wonder. Or perhaps, she simply refuses to leave home without her 5.5 Keepall holdall? Either way the iconic French fashion house is certainly a fan of HM.

So much so in fact, that they’re staging a weekend of high-brow culture in its New Bond Street Maison to celebrate her special weekend. Having enlisted the German artist – the creator of that iconic Queen with red nose portrait –to take over the store with a series of films and installations through which the artist hopes to tell the story of her majesty’s life, Louis Vuitton will also offer customers visiting this weekend a special mementoes to take home and treasure.

The Maison – or shop, as it’s known to us mere mortals – will also be hosting two piano days (June 4th&5th) during which a host of pianists will play works by legendary composers including Beethoven, Debussy, Schubert and Brahms. It all sounds rather spiffing, don’t you think?
