As the fashion world begins to make big steps towards restructuring the fashion week model in order to suit its customer by showcasing collections fit for the current season, it may still feel as though there’s a barrier between the industry insiders and mere mortals on the outside of the professional style circle.

But times are a-changing, and the fashion world is getting more inclusive. Slightly.

When is London Fashion Week?

The five day showcase kicks off on Friday February 19 and ends on Tuesday 23.

Where to get tickets for London Fashion Week?

Unfortunately, London Fashion Week is typically an invite-only event for industry insiders, buyers and fashion press. However, this season the British Fashion Council have teamed up with Ocean Outdoor – who specialise in large-format digital billboards – and will be streaming show footage at 60 outdoor locations across the UK including Birmingham, Edinburgh and Manchester.

In London there will be screens in Canary Wharf, Holland Park roundabout, Two Towers West (between London and Heathrow) and Westfield.

You can also live stream a number of the runways here.

And if you’re desperate to attend a live show, head to London Fashion Weekend.

What is London Fashion Weekend?

London Fashion Weekend runs from Thursday February 25 – Sunday 28, and is an opportunity for those with an interest in fashion – albeit not a professional one – to get a taste of the glamorous world.

This season four top designers will showcase their AW16 collections for ticket holders. Emilia Wickstead, Mary Katrantzou, Temperley London and Holly Fulton will be given a day each to re-stage their runways.

Attendees will also be given the opportunity to shop from over 150 brands at exclusive prices, as well as taking in talks from the likes of Daisy Lowe, Charlotte Olympia and Nicholas Kirkwood.

Prices range from a £20 basic ticket to a £200 premium package. Buy tickets here.
