Kate Middleton loves this £550 Prada sandal so much that she wore it in two different colours this week

The scalloped stiletto is a far cry from the Duchess of Cambridge's usual shoe

She debuted a cropped hair cut at Wimbledon two weeks ago and plumped for a plunging neckline at a Buckingham Palace banquet last week, but the Duchess of Cambridge's brave new look wasn't finished there.

Having surprised fashion critics with a pair of scalloped suede Prada sandals in burgundy at the Natural History Museum last Friday, Kate Middleton has hinted at a seemingly similar fondness for Miuccia's handiwork ad the rest of us having stepped out in the style twice more since.

Opting for a cream pair to pack for this week's royal tour of Poland and Germany, the Duchess has worn the £550 shoe with a teal and grey Markus Lupfer midi and a bold red Alexander McQueen gown with a Bardot neckline.

Unlike her trusty LK Bennett courts or favourite nude wedges, the stiletto sandal provides Kate with the most directional shoe design we're yet to see her wear.

Elegant in its simplicity, the shoe's scalloped detailing is a modern take on the strappy sandal spotted underpinning 95% (approx.) of evening looks over the last 3 years.

A busy week for the Duchess in the style stakes, the royal tour has provided her with the perfect opportunity to experiment with her style.

The red McQueen gown proving a wardrobe highlight, the mother-of-two has also impressed in a white peplum look by the same designer as well as a yellow Jenny Packham number.

Making her next sartorially savvy move, Kate arrived at a party at the British Ambassador to Poland's residence in honour of the Queen's birthday wearing a piece by Polish designer Gosia Bacynska.

Paired with a black closed-toe heel with an ankle strap, the Duchess looks poised to experiment further with her shoe repertoire.

Having so far stepped out in 6 different pairs of shoes this week - including, naturally, that trusty nude wedge - the fashion pack will have their eyes firmly on the Duchess's feet over the coming months to see if her Prada penchant stretches as far as those leopard-print platforms. We can only dream.
