Founded in 1856 by 21-year old dressmaker Thomas Burberry, it wasn't until Kate Moss's first appearance for the brand in the Autumn/Winter 1999 campaign, photographed by Mario Testino, that Burberry turned to iconic fashion photography.

Talking of this shoot, Testino explained: "When I started working with Burberry we decided, 'let's bring Burberry to the people', and who was the best person to communicate that? Kate Moss."

Later on, after going through models such as Danny Beauchamp and Kiera Gormley, the brand turned to aesthetically pleasing actors Eddie Redmayne and Alex Pettyfer for its Spring/Summer 2008 campaign. Harry Potter actress, and now global star, Emma Watson was hired for the Autumn/Winter 2009 campaign and again for Spring/Summer 2010 where the brand inviting her brother Alex Watson, 17, to model alongside her.

For Spring/Summer 2011, Cara Delevingne was welcomed into the genetically blessed Burberry family as she modelled alongside Jacob Young, no doubt heightening her recognition and probing the award of Model of the Year at the 2012 British Fashion Awards.

Speaking of the Delevingne introduction to the brand, Mario Testino - Burberry's only campaign photographer since the 1999 shoot - claimed: "The first time that Christopher Bailey proposed that we shoot Cara Delevingne for a Burberry campaign I was quite surprised, because she was a completely new person in the business."

"He was so seduced by her energy that he thought she'd be the perfect person to represent the brand." It seems Bailey was as clued up in this instance as he was when he incorporated Miss Moss, as one of the biggest names in fashion today, Cara seems to be following in the model's legendary footsteps.

Cara was then involved in the Autumn/Winter 2011, Spring/Summer 2012, Spring/Summer 2013 and Autumn/Winter 2014 campaigns, clearly securing herself a position as a firm favourite of the brand's.

Fifteen years on from her first shoot for Burberry in 1999, Kate Moss joined Cara Delevingne for the first time in the brand's iconic photoshoot for the My Burberry fragrance, a year after Cara modelled alongside David and Victoria's son, Romeo Beckham.

With heavy support from the brand, Romeo is now the face of Burberry's much-anticipated festive campaign at just 12-years-old. This young model is set to be a huge name in the fashion industry, if Cara's career is anything to go by.
