She's a barrister, an activist, a wife, a mother and, now, Amal Clooney can also add Vogue cover star to the list.

The internationally celebrated human rights lawyer was photographed by Annie Liebovitz for the front cover of American Vogue’s May 2018 issue wearing a fuchsia Alexander McQueen top and Cartier earrings.

The interview is timed to coincide with May's Met Gala, which Clooney is co-hosting alongside Anna Wintour, Rihanna and Donatella Versace.

Anna Wintour, who in her editor’s letter describes Clooney as “a force to be reckoned with,” is clearly a fan of Clooney's effortlessly elegant style. And so are we.

Amal Clooney (née Alamuddin) was thrust into the public eye when she began dating George Clooney, but she had cultivated an enviable personal style long before meeting her husband.

In her long and illustrious career as a barrister, Clooney’s taken legal action against ISIS, represented Wikileaks founder Julian Assange (whom she helped fight against his extradition), and lived on a compound in Beirut while she worked on a U.N. investigation of the murder of Lebanon’s prime minister, Rafic Hariri.

And her working wardrobe has been as polished as her clients have been high profile.

With her nine-to-five uniform of immaculate skirt suits and simple shift dresses from brands such as Gucci, Giambattista Valli and Bottega Veneta paired with oversized sunglasses and point-toe stilettos, Clooney certainly knows how to bring old school Hollywood glamour to the boardroom.

But it’s not only the Lebanese-British barrister’s working wardrobe that’s won her style points.

Since she and George became an item, Clooney, who gave birth to twins Ella and Alexander last June, has become something of a red carpet dressing aficionado.

Just as her workwear is the epitome of elegance, so too her event dressing perfectly marries sophistication and sexiness.

The last (and only) time she attended the Met Gala in 2015, Clooney wore a strapless, ruffled red Maison Margiela gown.

She opted for Maison Margiela again that same year when she attended the Tokyo premiere of Tomorrowland in a liquid gold custom-designed gown by John Galliano.

Another red carpet highlight came at 2017's Venice Film Festival when she dazzled in a head-turning lilac Atelier Versace dress and Aquazurra heels.
