After the excited selfies he shared with fellow stars at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon went viral, Richard E. Grant has joked that it's "hard to be in control" since earning both BAFTA and Academy Award nominations for his role in Can You Ever Forgive Me?

Grant was speaking at the BAFTA Nespresso Nominees' Party at Kensington Palace, an event held to celebrate film luminaries nominated for awards at the 72nd BAFTAs tomorrow night.

He was joined on the red carpet by his Can You Ever Forgive Me? co-star Melissa McCarthy.

McCarthy is also nominated in the Leading Actress category, and said of working with Grant, "I think even the parts that were difficult and heartbreaking to shoot it was still so fun to do it with Richard, someone who was so in 150%, it made everything that much better."

A host of Hollywood stars turned out for the party held at Kensington Palace, including Amy Adams - nominated for her role as Lynne Cheney in Vice - Bohemian Rhapsody star Rami Malek, and Glenn Close, who won a Golden Globe earlier this year for her part in The Wife.

The BAFTAs will take place tomorrow night at the Royal Albert Hall, hosted by Joanna Lumley. The Duke of Cambridge, President of BAFTA, and his wife the Duchess of Cambridge, are also scheduled to attend.
