Clarkson, 38, was married to talent manager Brandon Blackstock, 43, and she's been incredibly open about their relationship. The couple began dating in 2012, as they originally met when he was married and then reconnected. He's her former manager Narvel Blackstock's son and the former stepson of Reba McEntire.

She previously spoke about getting married in her thirties and said, "I think the biggest thing is just getting married later in life...You change so much in your twenties." She also spoke about her husband's first marriage and said, “I mean, [my husband] got married at 21 in his first marriage, and they both went, ‘What?!’ It can be very hard to grow in the same way. Your twenties are all about growth, and giant [mistakes].”

She opened up to Redbook in 2015 and said, "I always swore ours would not be a relationship where we have to schedule sex. That is never going to happen. We put each other first. I call it the oxygen-mask mentality—take care of yourself first!"

At a concert in New York City, she spoke about when they first started dating. "This isn't a downer to anybody I dated before him, but I'm just going to be real: I never felt like, honesty, sexually attracted to anybody before him."

The couple share two children, River Rose, 5, and Remington Alexander, 4. In May, the American Idol winner talked about wanting more children on her television show but said her husband did not want more, as he already has two from a previous marriage.
