Los Angeles was flooded with colour on Thursday night as stars stepped out for the amfAR gala, with names including Gwyneth Paltrow, Christina Aguilera and Queer Eye’s Bobby Berk taking to its colourful carpet.

Held at Milk Studios, the night saw celebrities come together for the fundraiser to raise money for HIV/AIDS.

Gwyneth Paltrow, who was honoured with the Award of Courage for her contributions to the fight against AIDS, arrived in a long white gown embellished with red embroidery.

In an Instagram story captured by Ariana Grande’s brother Frankie, she was seen thanking her husband Brad Falchuk in her speech.

Christina Aguilera had one of the most head-turning outfits of the night, opting for an exaggerated black ruffled cape and a sequined black and red jumpsuit. Aguilera closed out the night with a performance that had Bobby Berk singing along and saw her revisit classic hits like 'Lady Marmalade.'

Bobby Berk also cut a dapper figure in a black suit. The Queer Eye host, who is set to return to Netflix soon for a new season set in Japan, was photographed sitting at the same table as RuPaul’s Drag Race alumni Ongina.

Ongina was the night's bird of paradise in a vibrant outfit, which featured a feathered headpiece and exaggerated blue sparkling power shoulders. Ongina was the first contestant on RuPaul's Drag Race to publicly disclose their HIV status.

Glee’s Lea Michele attended wearing a Reem Acra ballgown, which she teased ahead of the event on Instagram. With velvet bowtie straps and a red and gold regal pattern, she matched her lipstick to the hue of the florals on her dress. In her Instagram stories, she also revealed that she was seated beside both Christina Aguilera and the night’s host - Alan Cumming.

To raise money for charity, amfAR also hosted an auction with works by artists including Sterling Ruby and Thomas Hauseaga. Parson James also gave a rousing performance prior to Christina Aguilera closing out the night with her legendary vocal runs. The gala is also held at Cannes, Hong Kong and New York annually, with stars including Mariah Carey, Dua Lipa and more turning out to support the charity.

Earlier this year, amfAR Cannes raised over $15 million and the Hong Kong edition made over $2.75 million. Since 1985, amfAR has invested over $517 million into programmes that help people living with HIV/AIDS and awarded grants to over 3,300 research teams internationally.
