We may only be a few weeks into social distancing, but already the reality of what it means to be indoors pretty much 24/7 has begun to sink in.

Perhaps one of the latest realisations many of us are having, however, is that we will no longer be able to go to the hairdressers or barber shop to get our barnets chopped.

This revelation has since given way to hilarious memes and panic, as people toy with the idea of picking up the kitchen scissors and doing a DIY trim.

So without further ado, here are best - and worst - quarantine haircuts and memes on the Internet right now.

You had one job, Sophie

Well you may as well go all out

Nothing like a bit of support from your mates

You know this ain't no lie

This mumma's a pro

Tom Kerridge may be a whizz in the kitchen, but he should 100% steer clear of scissors moving forward

Not the best Javier Bardem pic to take into the hairdressers

That was a close shave!

Others think they're going to turn into Joe Exotic

Our pets' heads are falling off!

This guy went full on bowl cut

Nailed it, sis

Even the poor dog can't escape

The truth hurts

Others just decided to give up the ghost completely
