Review: Voya Organic Illuminating Facial at The Landmark Spa

Jo Fernandez16 October 2014

Science bit: hand-harvested seaweed from County Sligo and the sound of waves washing on the shore.

Process: first you’re relaxed with a foot cleanse (to prepare them for a deep massage) and facial cleanse before the Voya Get Glowing mask is applied with delicate brushstrokes followed by a pressure-point massage (acupressure is said to reduce facial tension and improve circulation).

Now the seaweed makes an appearance as hot strips are layered over the mask to allow pores to open and soak up the certified organic goodies. Finally my arms and legs were given a deep stretch, adding to the overall relaxation.

Results: total relaxation in 60 minutes. Impressively thorough methods reveal smooth, clear skin to boot. The surroundings keep up the soothing tone, as does the walk through the hotel’s glass-roofed Winter Garden atrium as you leave.

Cost: From £85 for 60 minutes. The Landmark London Hotel, 222 Marylebone Road, NW1 (020 7631 8000, voya.ie).
