In celebration of chocolate week, The Spa at Dolphin Square has sweetened up its traditional Moroccan treatments with a delicious chocolate twist.
Experience
My hands were sprinkled with rose water - a traditional Moroccan greeting – before I was guided into the salt infused steam room for my orange blossom and salt exfoliation. A word of warning – do remember to take your own swim wear as the disposable knickers are far from flattering, and even less so when you’re sweating profusely from the heat. Every last inch of skin was scrubbed and massaged before being doused in buckets of warm water.
After guzzling down a few glasses to rehydrate, I was taken to the treatment room for my chocolate massage. I find it hard to relax as I'm constantly thinking about the fact that I haven’t had a pedicure or am slightly overdue on the bikini wax, but I fully succumbed to the scent of what smelled like hot Nutella as my limbs were gently stroked, pulled and kneaded. I would have preferred more on the feet, but I'm just greedy and the head massage more than made up for anything that might have been lacking. After waking myself up I was taken to the Tepidarium room, covered in a blanket and served chocolate cake, almonds and Moroccan tea.
Results
I was desperate to pull the blindfold back down and beg for more, but instead I had to drag my dozy self out into the cold to catch the tube.
