4 reasons why Annabel Rivkin loves Larry King's Volumizing Hair Mist

I am tired of hair products in unrecycled and unrecyclable plastic bottles. And tired of ugly, pearlised containers and aerosols. Tired of the fact that, just because it’s for hair, the design is automatically lazy. Tired of cheap, generic-smelling styling products with boring, same-y stories. Do I sound tired? Here’s something a little different...

There are four reasons why you should take a look at the Larry King (excellent man with an excellent South Ken salon) range of products and, in particular, the Volumizing Hair Mist, even though they are expensive.

1. It is clear that they are made with authority and love. The bottle is glass and tremendously handsome with its sage green label and elegant font.

2. The mist itself is super lightweight, so excellent for fine hair, and leaves it feeling product-free but infused with body, which is always a huge relief.

3. The smell is revelatory. There are some well-scented hair products out there (Sam McKnight worked with perfumer Lyn Harris and the result is delicious; Aveda shampoos are head-turners in fragrance terms; and, if you use Ouai dry shampoo, you can bin your perfume), but this mist is woodiness, cooled with eucalyptus, herbed-up with rosemary, softened with jasmine atop a musk and amber base.

4. Lastly — and this is my favourite — the recyclable cardboard packaging is engineered to contain wildflower seeds so that, if it does end up in a hedgerow, beautiful things will grow. I mean…
