Tube chiefs ban 'Fat Christ' poster at Angel

Fat Christ poster: Deemed too offensive for the Tube

A poster for a new play starring Abi Titmuss has been banned from the Tube because it could offend.

Fat Christ is a comedy due to open at the King's Head theatre in Islington this month.

The poster, featuring its writer Gavin Davis on a cross wearing pink boxer shorts, was supposed to go up at Angel station but London Underground said it was "likely to offend the general travelling public, or ethnic, religious or other groups".

A poster depicting a naked Venus, intended to advertise a Royal Academy of Arts show, has already been banned from the Underground.
