Toddler killed on his birthday

A toddler was knocked down and killed on his birthday after running on to a dual carriageway.

Burhann Khan, three, was playing with his sister in the front garden of his home in Slough when his mother tried to put him to bed. Laughing and shouting "catch me" he ran off, ignoring his sister's shouted warning, "don't go on the road".

He was hit by a car on the A412 which passes the house. Paramedics reached the scene shortly after 8.40pm on Sunday, but Burhann died of multiple injuries in nearby Wexham Park Hospital early yesterday.

One of his aunts said: "He was a lovely boy, always happy."
