In London ...

Princess Anne & US Ambassador William S Farish officially open London’s September 11 Memorial Garden in Grosvenor Sq Gardens at 3pm.

In the US ...

President Bush will lead a remembrance service from the White House.

A ceremony at Ground Zero will begin at 08:30 with children reading the names of victims throughout the day with music performances during the programme.

Four pauses will mark the times each plane hit the towers & when each tower fell - the 1st silence and tolling of bells at 08:46 will be statewide.

At sunset the Tribute in Light will shine from where the World Trade Center twin-towers once stood in memory of those lost.

More than 100 British police officers will attend the service, bearing a message from the Queen in which she sends her "warm good wishes".

The officers will wear full uniform and stand alongside US police forces including the NYPD and the Port Authority Police of New York and New Jersey.
