Sun's out as Hampton Court blooms again

12 April 2012

Floristry teacher Sarah Wilkins, 32, checks the blooms at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, which opens tomorrow.

Among the displays is David Domoney's Catwalk in Bloom, with "hunky undressed male gardeners", and one with Lego.

Mr Domoney's garden promises "undressed male gardeners" and "dressed-to-seduce desperate housewives" who are "pouting with red hot lipstick".

"These new gardens are definitely raising eyebrows among some of the more traditional gardeners," said Matthew Appleby of Horticulture Week.

"It's becoming quite difficuly to work out where gardening ends and entertainment begins, and gardeners like David Domoney are really showmen at heart, they know how to press people's buttons and get interest.

"However, I think everyone realises that these shows have to get people through the door in what is a very competitive market."
