South Park creators' Broadway smash is heading for West End

13 April 2012

A musical from the creators of TV's South Park cartoon series is coming to the West End.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone - behind South Park favourites such as Kenny McCormick - joined forces with Robert Lopez who wrote the score for Avenue Q, the adult version of Sesame Street, and came up with Book of Mormon.

The show is a huge Broadway hit, winning nine Tony awards. It centres on Mormon missionaries sent to preach in a Ugandan village.

South Park producer Eric Stough confirmed plans to bring the show to London. Fans include actress Kate Winslet, who called it "scandalous and wonderful".
