Robbie looks to settle in LA

Richard Simpson12 April 2012

Robbie Williams is hoping to quit the UK for good and live permanently in America.

The singer has been in Los Angeles on a temporary visa for the past six months and on a one-day whistlestop visit to London yesterday he got his visa documents renewed and made inquiries about US residency, sources said. He also made further preparations to sell up in Britain by putting his Notting Hill bachelor pad on the market.

Sources close to the pop star said: "Robbie is having the time of his life in Los Angeles. He has a number of great friends out there and he is really enjoying the anonymity.

"He is really turning his back on the UK. Every time he is forced to come back here now he hates it. He gets hounded by fans and photographers and is paranoid about security. He has four bodyguards with him and they're all ex-SAS. It's rather over the top but Robbie has been attacked by mad fans before."

The singer has notified estate agents FPD Savills he wants to sell his fashionable three-bedroom maisonette with roof terrace for £1.25 million. The impressive pied-?terre was bought four years ago after Williams left Take That. He owns a larger home, also in Notting Hill, around half a mile away.

Williams flew out of Heathrow yesterday on the way to an event in Germany for his Give It Sum charity, having stayed just 22 hours in London.
