Madonna called round her A-list friends Gwyneth Paltrow and Stella McCartney for a get-together after revamping the inside of her £15million London home.

The pop star, who has agreed to give her husband Guy Ritchie an estimated £50million in a divorce pay-off, returned to the house in Marylebone she once shared with the film director after ending her world tour. She immediately started redecorating.

After a meeting with her divorce lawyer Fiona Shackleton, the star swapped old paintings and photographs for a whole new set.

One of the artworks was a photograph of a blindfolded Madonna taken two years ago by Steven Klein for a magazine.

The 50-year-old singer had handed over sons Rocco, eight and David, three, to Ritchie and they are thought to be spending Christmas Day at his Wiltshire home.

Later Paltrow and McCartney were among 30 friends who arrived for a party to celebrate the end of Madonna's hugely successful Sticky and Sweet tour.

The promoters, Live Nation, announced this week that the tour brought in more than £150 million in ticket sales.
