Now Blair demands apology

Cleared: Tony Blair
13 April 2012

Tony Blair has today demanded an apology over allegations that he lied in the dossier on Iraqi WMD and about the naming of David Kelly.

Mr Blair said the charges made against him by BBC reporter Andrew Gilligan could not have been more serious, saying: "If true it would have meant that I had misled this House."

The allegations had been shown to be "completely untrue" but "the BBC has never clearly and visibly withdrawn this allegation. This has allowed others to say repeatedly I lied and misled Parliament".
