Chisenhale Dance Space in Bow is launching The Big 30 — a three-month celebration including new commissions — next Thursday with Cake, an evening performance from Eleanor Sikorski. Laura Sweeney, Chisenhale lead producer, said losing the £113,000 subsidy — more than half its annual income — in 2008 was “devastating” but the centre had managed to carry on as a home for dancers developing more experimental work.
