Newsreader to marry ex-Dome boss

13 April 2012

Former Millennium Dome boss PY Gerbeau is to marry BBC newsreader Kate Sanderson, it was announced today.

The couple became engaged over the festive season after he popped the question as they holidayed in Dubai.

Charismatic Gerbeau - who became the face of the troubled Dome - and Sanderson, who reads bulletins on BBC Breakfast, have not fixed a date for the wedding.
They met at a conference on the European Union in Paris in February last year and have been dating since.

Gerbeau is chief executive of leisure firm X-Leisure after helping to improve the tarnished image of the London attraction.

The couple said in a statement: "We are delighted by the wonderful response we have received from our friends and family - and are looking forward to planning our future together."
