More Calcutta suspects held

Police in Calcutta have arrested more people for questioning about the attack on a US cultural centre in which four died.

"More people have been picked up for questioning overnight and in the morning," said a senior officer.

Officers have also detained f ive people near the Bangladesh border in connection with Tuesday's attack, in which gunmen armed with AK-47s rode up on a motorcycle and fired on security police as they were changing shift.

Under Indian law, people can be "examined" by police but they cannot be detained unless there is a specific suspicion.
