Diego Maradona kept Pele and Zinedine Zidane waiting for four-and-a-half hours after arranging to meet them in a pub.

The three football legends were due to shoot an advert with photographer Annie Leibovitz at an Irish bar in Madrid.

The Brazilian, 69, and the Frenchman, 37, arrived on time at 3pm at Molly Malone's in the centre of the Spanish capital on Tuesday. But Argentine Maradona, 49, waltzed in at 7.30pm as the photography session was ending.

A source said: "Maradona is known for being controversial, but keeping them waiting all that time is just plain rude."

The advert will show the three former players drinking a beer together while watching the World Cup.

Maradona and Pele have a history of bad blood.
Pele once accused the Argentine of being a "bad example" for having taken drugs.

And in 2000 the Brazilian accused Maradona of spreading rumours he had enjoyed a gay affair with a coach.
