James McAvoy conspires to make it big in US

James McAvoy and Robin Wright arrive in Washington for the premiere of Robert Redford film The Conspirator.

The movie is based on the story of Mary Surratt, who was put on trial for conspiracy after the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Wright, 45, is Surratt and McAvoy, 31, is Frederick Aiken, the civil war hero who defends her in court.

At a screening at Ford's Theatre, Redford, right, said: "The movie was inspired by telling a story nobody knew about, tied to an event everybody knows about."
