Horlick denies political ambitions

Nicole Horlick today denied reports she is considering adding yet another string to her bow with a career in politics.

There has been speculation that Mrs Horlick who has been one of the City's highest paid women, is considering standing for the Conservatives at the next election.

There were reports that senior figures in the party are urging her to stand as an MP. One friend said: "I think she sees the Conservative Party as a sort of failing-business which she could help to turn round."

But a spokesman for Mrs Horlick, 42, said today: "This is news to us. We don't know anything about it."

A source close to her said: "I'd be very surprised if she wanted to become a Tory. She has previously been interested in the Liberals."
