The Shadow of Zorro

PlayStation 2

I've seen some dreadful games in my time and this certainly ranks high among them. Set in LA in 1830, Zorro's old man spies an adversary from back home in Spain and it's up to the swashbuckling hero to find out what's going on.

You do this with a mixture of stealth and sword fighting, but game play is so sluggish (our hero has the turning capacity of a cross channel ferry) and plainly ridiculous (to score a hit you have to follow a sequence of button commands) that it renders the whole experience a complete annoyance. What's more, it's badly animated and the dialogue is crass.
