Gymbox, in Holborn, is about as funky as they come. From the DJs in the
main room to the striptease classes in the studio. It's time to dig out your seriously sexy workout gear.
The machines at Gymbox certainly aren't run-of-the-treadmill. Users can pedal and play games on a Playstation exercise bike or run while watching a huge video screen. All the time beats from the DJ booth buzz around and keep the sweaty bodies moving.
The 'anything goes' (the gym's logo) attitude really shines through in the studios where the Striptease, Bollywood Grooves, Belly Dancing, Jewish Wedding Classes and Kangoo Jumps classes take place.
The boxing arena takes centre stage in the machines and free-weights area. Here you can expect to find thai-boxing, kick-boxing and Cathy 'The Bitch' Brown. If you're brave enough, Cathy, the hardest hitting female in Britain, will be available for one-on-one training sessions. Her celebrity clients include Alexander McQueen and Gail Porter.
In keeping with its very urban feel, the gym is full of graffiti-esque artwork and exposed piping. Think night-club meets a gritty, industrial future and you're half-way there.
