Cheap deal left me with a £4,500 bill

Sefi Mumoz travelled to Spain for breast implant surgery because of the £3,000 cost of the procedure in the UK.

She took a two-week holiday in Alicante and, even after paying £1,800 for the operation, she had still saved money.

But eight months after returning to London one of her new breasts turned 'rock hard' and changed shape.

She flew back to Spain to see if the surgeon could correct the problem.

But she could not afford further surgery and had to endure the agony of the surgeon manipulating the implant to break a 'capsule' of tissue around the implant. He then removed this under local anaesthetic.

Miss Mumoz, 32, from Greenwich, East London, was still not happy but UK doctors would not help. One told her: 'It was your decision to go abroad and not have your surgeon nearby for follow-up care. So it's your problem.'

More than three years after the original operation, the dancer finally had the problem corrected by a Harley Street surgeon - at a cost of £4,500. She said: 'Don't be seduced by a cheap deal because it could cost you a lot more money and pain.'
