Burglar pays for cursing judge's children

A burglar who screamed "I hope your children die of cancer" at a judge has been sentenced to a month in jail for the outburst.

Martin Double, 30, of Clapton, who had admitted stealing a bicycle from a property in Stepney, hit out at Judge Tudor Owen after being told his bail had been revoked at Snaresbrook crown court.

The judge said it was the worst disturbance he had seen in court and sentenced Double, who has 42 previous convictions, to five months for burglary and 28 days for contempt.
