Bruce in the hotseat

The king of talk show hosts, David Letterman, has taken a sick day - his first in 20 years. An eye infection prevented the 55-year-old star, who once boasted 'there is no off position on the genius switch', from hosting the Late Show on Wednesday, US TV studio CBS said.
