R&B queen Beyonce Knowles stormed to number one in the charts today with her solo hit Crazy In Love.

The singer - who first shot to fame as part of Destiny's Child - scored the highest new entry in the singles chart.

US rock band Evanescence's Bring Me To Life, which spent four weeks at the top, was pushed to number two.

Also bouncing into the charts with a high new entry at number four were S Club 8 - formerly S Club Juniors - with their single Fool No More.

US rapper 50 Cent and UK urban outfit Mis-teeq also scored new entries at number 6 and eight respectively with singles 21 Questions and Can't Get It Back.

Meanwhile, the Fast Food Rockers and their Fast Food Song slipped one place to number three.

Past number one Ignition, by R Kelly, slipped three places to number seven while Jamaican reggae singer Wayne Wonder remained in fifth position for another week with No Letting Go.

The 10-member boy band Blazin' Squad, who had the highest new entry last week with their track We Must be Dreamin', dropped nine places to number 12.

Beyonce also maintained her grip on the album charts with her CD Dangerously In Love sticking at the top for the second week.
