BBC chief critical of London bias

BBC chairman Sir Michael Lyons told the Royal Television Society the BBC was seen as not doing a good enough job

The BBC is too London-centric and there are concerns it is responding too "meekly" to the pay demands of its stars, chairman Sir Michael Lyons said today.

He told the Royal Television Society in London "many people don't think the BBC does a good enough job" at representing them.

He added that the corporation should not "overbid for talent".
