BA pilots let fly at rude passengers online

12 April 2012

BA pilots have posted explicit rants on the internet about the rudeness of passengers.

First officer Adam Corfield said that when he and other pilots stepped in as cabin crew during the strikes he came close to blows with one.

On his Facebook page, he wrote he had to stop himself from "nearly punching" one "w***er" in business class who "came marching into the gallery shouting in my face because he wants a coffee".

The 747 pilot from Warrington admitted that after his first trip as a steward "the customer service thing" is not for him and added he almost hit "the f***er".

Another 747 first officer Jonathan Harman replied: "Good work Adam, you should still have hit him though!"

BA Airbus A320 pilot John Lincoln wrote: "I've done 3 trips as cc now. Totally agree, not the job for me either! Bloody passengers ... though so far I've avoided hitting them."

Mr Corfield also summed up his feelings about the union at loggerheads with the airline, writing: "Shoot that w***er at the top of Unite!"

Nearly 300 pilots agreed to work as cabin crew to keep planes flying during the dispute. At least half have since asked to be taken off the volunteer list.

A spokesman for British Airways said: "We are investigating the claims in line with our normal internal disciplinary process."
