£42,000 stolen from car's boot

Thieves made off with £42,000 packed into a briefcase which a driver had left in his car.

Alan Landeg, 58, of Caterham, Surrey, was staying with his girlfriend in Dagenham.

But he fears he accidentally left the car unlocked and when he returned in the morning the briefcase was gone.

He is offering a £5,000 reward for the return of the money, intended for a house auction.
