A man has been left fighting for his life after he was stabbed in broad daylight in south London.

The victim, 20, was airlifted to hospital on Wednesday afternoon following the incident in Croydon.

Police rushed to the scene on Central Parade just before 3pm following reports of gunfire.

They found the man with knife wounds but no evidence of any shots fired.

The 20-year-old remains in hospital where his condition is said to be life-threatening.

So far no arrests have been made. A crime scene remains in place.
