There has been a string of cultural casualties at the hands of the pandemic this year, but last night's Emmy Awards 2020 was not one of them.

The ceremony, which was held virtually this year, was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and featured a string of stars donning their glitziest garb on Instagram in lieu of an IRL red carpet.

Before accepting her first Emmy award for hit series Euphoria, Zendaya looked a vision in violet (dress by Christopher John Rogers) before she swapped it for a custom Giorgio Armani Privé just in time to accept her accolade. Not only is the Emmy Zendaya's first, but the 24-year-old has also become the youngest person to win one of the coveted awards for Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

Elsewhere in the virtual realm, Blackish actress Tracee Ellis Ross looked a vision in a frothy gold lamé Alexandre Vauthier gown, Jimmy Choo heels and vintage Tiffany & Co. bling. "How fun to get dressed up! Can’t say I miss the frenetic energy of the red carpet or wearing high heels, but boy do I miss a pretty dress!!" the star captioned her picture.

Unorthodox star Shira Haas opted for Chanel couture which took 1,200 hours to make, and Jennifer Aniston took to the stage with host Jimmy Kimmel in vintage Christian Dior.

It wasn't just the ladies who pulled out all the stops. He may have got pulses racing earlier this summer with his omnipresent chain, but Paul Mescal cemented his fashion status in Louis Vuitton as he posed on his stairs for the digital award ceremony.

Never one to shy away from a fashion moment, Billy Porter donned an all-white custom ensemble by Middle Eastern label Ashi Studio, while This is Us star Sterling K. Brown wore a Black Lives Matter t-shirt under his sharp black suit.
