London's most luxurious rental homes: Mayfair sets new record as ultra-prime rents top £216k a month

In London, £50,000 doesn't even stretch towards the average deposit required for a tiny starter home. But for some, it's just another week's rent. A house in one of central London's most exclusive neighbourhoods has set a new rental record for the capital, according to a report by Knightsbridge-based letting, management and advisory service Tunstall Property and property data analysts LonRes. The home, in Mayfair's Brick Street, was rented for the equivalent of more than £216,000 a month - surpassing the record set last year by luxury apartment block One Hyde Park in Knightsbridge. Mayfair continues to be world-famous as a homes hotspot for the super-rich. Michelin star restaurants and the smartest boutique shops line manicured streets of elegant, stucco-fronted mansions and private garden squares. “Prime central London has a lot to offer and each neighbourhood has a distinct appeal to certain ultra-prime tenant groups," says Mark Tunstall, managing director of Tunstall Property. "The 'Golden Triangle' formed by the neighbourhoods of Mayfair, Belgravia and Knightsbridge commands the highest rents."  We go beyond the wrought-iron gates and concierge desks to take a tour of some of the capital's most exclusive ultra-prime lettings, where indoor pools, butlers and Aston Martins are, quite simply, part of the package...
