Fans of glamorous Thirties-style living will be in raptures over this £25 million Art Deco Mayfair penthouse that is perfect for throwing lavish Agatha Christie-style house parties.

Recently crowned the winner of the International Design Award for Residential Design Over £1m by the Society of British and International Design, The Penthouse is a masterclass in elegantly combining original features with modern requirements that has created a home with supreme luxury appeal.

It is part of a new boutique development of four apartments by Fenton Whelan in the refurbished, Grade II-listed Greybrook House, designed by Sir John Burnett & Partners as a Bechstein piano showroom in 1929.

Now, revamped and on the market for £25 million, the property is filled with bespoke furniture.

The kitchen has a central island in Makrana marble — the same marble the Taj Mahal was built from.

Upholstered white and gold bar stools, bronze Bulthaup cabinetry with Gagganau appliances and a pale green suede banqueting suite under the picture complete the decadent Deco look.

Covering 4,600 sq ft of space and spread over two floors, guests will be reminded of Jazz Age cocktail clubs by such statement features as a back-lit onyx cocktail bar, powder room and herringbone marble tiled flooring.

The L-shaped drawing room is dominated by a hanging bronze glass fireplace that acts a divider between the living and dining areas.

Large steel-framed windows open onto a fully-furnished wraparound terrace overlooking Mayfair.

A grand white marble staircase leads to a rooftop garden with views of the capital's skyline.

The master bedroom is on the lower floor, with lacquered wardrobes enhanced by an Art Deco-inspired finish and a large fully-fitted dressing room and vanity unit.

No less glamorous, the master en-suite has a marble floor with black and gold geometric shapes to match the patterned finish on the doors throughout the property.

The black marble soaker bath is an extravagant centrepiece, flanked by mirrored walls that reflect light into the room.

There are four other bedrooms, each with fitted cabinetry and marble bathrooms. Residents have access to the spas at Claridge’s and The Connaught.

If you want to hire staff, The Penthouse comes with an additional two-bedroom, 748 sq ft flat on a separate floor in Greybrook House.

Underground parking is through separate negotiation but Bond Street and Oxford Street Tube stations are just a few minutes' walk away.

Mayfair estate agent Wetherell, which is marketing the penthouse, said: “It just shows that even when the property market in other areas may seem unpredictable, you can always be assured of world-class design and opportunities in Mayfair.”
